I had the pleasure of working with Madison at Mathematica, where she served as a project manager on several complex initiatives. As the Director of the Enterprise Project Management Office, I saw firsthand how consistently Madison showed up as a thoughtful team player—always ready to dig into challenges, learn new technologies, and offer creative solutions. She has a talent for making financial management accessible and meaningful to colleagues who aren’t project managers, which was invaluable across our interdisciplinary teams. Madison also brought fresh ideas to the table, like gamifying elements of our internal training programs to help colleagues better engage with and retain important content. She is collaborative, curious, and committed—an asset to any team.
Madison is an elite level problem solver. It does not matter what kind of risk is identified, Madison will implement a strategy to reduce the impact of the risk or negate it entirely. I am Madison's former supervisor; these are problems she has resolved for me:
1. Projecting a quarter million-dollar deficit on a contract and have less than 3 months to fix it? Madison onboarded, implemented a risk mitigation strategy, and landed it on budget.
2. Do you have inconsistent monitoring and controlling of contract initiation and planning at the Enterprise level? Madison led the team that monitored and controlled the Initiation Phase of the project management lifecycle for all Mathematica contracts. Madison took ownership of the process in Jira, updated and improved the workflow, created KPIs, created a dashboard to track and share the KPIs, and created an executive summary report for senior leadership based on those KPIs.
3. Are you reliant on overly manual tools for your project management needs? Madison created a QC macro tool in excel to efficiently check if a project’s financial information is aligned across multiple systems. As her supervisor, I had just mentioned issues with the old tool in passing, so she saw the need for a solution, and took the initiative to create one without being asked.
4. Do you need a Project Manager that can work well with anyone? As her supervisor, I am guilty of having staffed Madison on projects that I knew had team members with difficult personalities to manage. I did it because she could not only handle it, but improve a team that otherwise was failing to work together and putting the project at risk.
You should hire Madison, or I will again if given the opportunity.
I had the opportunity to work with Madison for about a year, and in that time, she made a lasting impact on my growth and experience as a new employee. From day one, Madison stood out as someone who not only had a deep understanding of our organization but also a natural ability to lead, support, and uplift others. She quickly became a go-to mentor for me, offering thoughtful guidance and helping me navigate new responsibilities with clarity and confidence.
One of Madison’s most impressive qualities is her responsiveness, especially when working with clients. Her ability to quickly and thoughtfully address client needs is truly unmatched. I often found myself just beginning to read a client’s email when Madison had already crafted and sent a professional, effective response. That level of attentiveness and commitment to client relationships sets her apart and plays a key role in both team success and client satisfaction.
Madison also brings a rare combination of approachability, efficiency, and strategic thinking to her work. Whether she is mentoring colleagues, managing priorities, or fielding fast-paced client requests, she handles it all with professionalism and calm. Any team would benefit from her steady presence, strong communication skills, and her ability to make the people and processes around her more effective.
I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Madison for a little over a year. Although I was in the Finance and Accounting department, we were assigned to work on many projects together. Madison was the first project manager on any of my projects that I was introduced to. She quickly reached out to me, the new accountant, and helped me not only learn the project but also about the company, the culture, and the workflows.
As we continued to work on our current projects, she was assigned to a few of my other projects that could only be described as turbulent, at best. She was assigned to these projects because of her skills and ability to steer the ship back on course, so to speak. I felt confident and relieved see any of my projects were managed by "Madison Sowersby". The more I worked with her, the more I began to understand why. She was extremely organized, incredibly efficient in her role, and devoted to getting these projects back on track. She steered my projects out of problems that had existed for months, and even years before she came aboard. She is passionate about what she does.
I am confident that Madison will do phenomenally in whatever role she steps into. As I knew her at Mathematica, she was a titan, and her teams quickly became some of my favorites to work with. Her genuine personality, degree of dedication, and absolute effectiveness in her work are incredibly unique and should be highly coveted by anyone looking for an addition to their work family. She is one of the best and most energetic young professionals that I have met, and it truly is a pleasure to know her.
Madison and I worked together on a couple of very technical, challenging projects together. She was the project manager, and I oversaw technical pieces of the project.
I do not have a project management background, so working with Madison made my life easy. She is highly organized and detail-oriented. When working with her on budgeting my tasks, she offered creative suggestions to keep us on track. She always asked thoughtful questions and, in doing so, gained a strong high-level understanding of the technical work my team was doing.
Through her efforts, she got our project that was projecting a deficit back on track in only a short amount of time. She has been a strong collaborator and a wonderful colleague. It was a pleasure working with her during her time at Mathematica.
It is a pleasure to recommend Madison, who consistently exemplifies exceptional teamwork and leadership. One standout example was when she led the quality control review of enterprise project schedules. Madison coordinated cross-functional input, facilitated productive discussions, and ensured alignment with organizational standards. Her proactive leadership not only improved schedule accuracy and financial forecasting but also strengthened collaboration across departments. She is a reliable and highly effective team player.
I had the pleasure of working with Madison on an internal project focused on Jira workflow development and managing complex contract life cycles. As the Project Manager, Madison played a key role in designing and optimizing custom Jira workflows that significantly improved our operational efficiency and visibility across our entire company.
Her ability to align technical solutions with business needs, especially in streamlining contract lifecycle processes, was instrumental to the project's success. I highly recommend Madison for any role involving complex project management, workflow automation or lifecycle management.
Madison is an experienced project manager. She joined the project I direct in the middle of a contract year. She immediately set up a process with myself and the technical task leads to improve our financial management. The new process helped us meet our annual budget targets.
Working with Madison is easy. She is quick to get up to speed on any task. She asks targeted questions to help her make progress. She successfully works both collaboratively and independently. She clearly offers thoughtful ideas to overcome challenges. I already miss working with Madison. I envy her next set of coworkers.
